Nirvana's Nevermind: 20 Years Later

Nirvana's Nevermind came out on September 24, 1991. Can you believe that 20 years has already passed???

Nirvana is one of our favorite bands of all time and Nevermind was one of the first tapes (yes cassette tapes!) we ever purchased. We were just barely teenagers at the time. Not only did this album open up the doors to a whole 'nother world of music for us, it even changed the way we dressed and how we felt about the world around us. This just happened to be the time when we were changing from innocent little kids to angst ridden teenagers. Good times!

Below are five videos that show Nevermind producer Butch Vig breaking down songs from this amazing album. Very interesting  to watch! It puts these songs into a whole new light...

Happy 20th Birthday Sonic!!!

This week, Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog turns 20. The first game of the series, "Sonic the Hedghog", was released on June 23, 1991 and Sega never looked back. Sonic became their mascot and had brought them much success.

Seems like just yesterday we were sitting on the floor with our new Sega Genesis kickin' ass with Sonic's Spin Attack! We played for hours and hours and hours until we beat the game. We beat it so many times that we started to have competitions to see who can get through each level the fastest, who can beat the game the fastest, who can go through each level without losing one ring, etc, etc. Good times!

Below is a video of someone else doing pretty much the same thing that we did as kids. Not only is the game amazing, the music is great too. Take a look and a listen!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SONIC!!!!!!!

Dave Grohl drunk? YOU be the judge!

Dave Grohl Drunk And Pissed - Watch the best video clips here

Dave Grohl is DEFINITELY drunk AND stoned in this clip from "1991: The Year Punk Broke". And so is Krist Novoselic. And you can bet that Kurt Cobain is right around the corner, equally fucked up...

March 15, 1991: 4 Los Angeles police officers charged with beating Rodney King

20 years ago today, on this day, March 15, 1991, four Los Angeles police officers were indicted on charges of assualt and filing false police reports. The victim was Rodney King. A bystander, George Holliday, videotaped much of the incident from a distance. Here is the video of the assault:

The trial went on until April 29, 1992, where a jury of 10 whites and 2 hispanics found the officers NOT GUILTY on all counts, even with the evidence of the videotape. Craziness then ensued...
