Nirvana's Nevermind: 20 Years Later

Nirvana's Nevermind came out on September 24, 1991. Can you believe that 20 years has already passed???

Nirvana is one of our favorite bands of all time and Nevermind was one of the first tapes (yes cassette tapes!) we ever purchased. We were just barely teenagers at the time. Not only did this album open up the doors to a whole 'nother world of music for us, it even changed the way we dressed and how we felt about the world around us. This just happened to be the time when we were changing from innocent little kids to angst ridden teenagers. Good times!

Below are five videos that show Nevermind producer Butch Vig breaking down songs from this amazing album. Very interesting  to watch! It puts these songs into a whole new light...

Joe Montana's Sports Talk Football (1992 Sega Genesis)

Wow. My brothers, my friends, my cousins and anyone else I knew agreed that this was the best and most hi-tech football video game out there (this was back in 1992).

We were amazed at how the game actually talked to you and how it would narrate the game as if it was a live man. No, it wasn't Joe Montana speaking. It was a radical robot with a radical voice speaking and somehow it kept up with all of our plays.

We have some really amazing memories of playing this game and it's cool to think how this game paved the way to today's "Madden NFL 12". Which game is better?

This video below will show you what every single boy played in 1992-93 on their Sega Genesis.

Sweep Strong is still my favorite play.

World Trade Center 1990: A Tourist's View

Today it's rainy. It's sad. It doesn't feel like a normal day.

It's the 10 year anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Here's a video of the World Trade Center in 1990.

RIP to all the victims of that day.

Be safe everyone.

Where were you the first day you met ALF?

Blind Date and Roger Lodge prepared us for the new millenium

As you may have noticed, we haven't posted many videos from the end of the 90s, particularly '97, '98, and '99. There is, however, a show that deserves recognition from the sunset years of the 90s. That show is Blind Date, hosted by the one and only Roger Lodge (aka Rodge Lodge and Rodger Lodger).

In the show, cameras follow around couples on blind dates while commentary in the form of funny subtitles, wacky animations, and cooky "thought bubbles" was added by the show's producers.

2 extremely annoying people

Poor guy couldn't work his magic

This guy gets trashed, makes a fool of himself, and goes home alone

NOTE: We know that the majority of the show didn't even take place in the 90s. BUT one year DID take place in the 90s and that was the year 1999. Who knows? Maybe Blind Date prepared us for the craziness of the post-9/11 2000s (or at least the annoying pop-up ads that you witness in some of the videos above)

MLB Moustaches from the 80s & 90s

Not sure if you guys know but, many Major League Baseball players in the 1980's had moustaches. Back then it was the norm. Today, not so much. But if you have followed baseball in the last decade you will see that it's coming back. Slowly but surely.

It's so easy to Google "mlb moustaches' and add the first bunch to this list. That's too easy. We decided to dig deeper and we've found the truly best MLB baseball players, with a moustache, that falls anywhere between 1980 and 1999. We hope we succeeded (and if you're lucky, we'll throw in some 2011 players who sport the 'stache. But only if you're lucky.) Enjoy!

This is in no particular order of how cool the moustache is. It's random coolness:

Bill Buckner: Can't tell the difference between his moustache and his eyebrow. Yes, his one eyebrow.

Bill Buckner

Steve Balboni: My handlebar goes slightly below my lips. Only crazy people go longer than that.
Steve Balboni

Don Mattingly: Don can have any moustache he wants.
Don Mattingly

Dale Berra: Yup, that's Yogi Berra's son. Junior is most known for supplying the Pirates with cocaine during the 1985 season.
Dale Berra

Rollie Fingers: Yes, thats my real name. I'm known for having the best moustache in baseball. Google it.
Rollie Fingers

Rollie Fingers: See, I told you so. Look at this thing. Now it's time to play some baseball!!
 Rollie Fingers

Rollie Fingers: Hello me, it's me again. Yes, I'm here but now I'm on the Brewers. Bo-yah!!
Rollie Fingers

Rollie Fingers: What?! Yous still takin my photos?!?
Rollie Fingers

Again, this is a work in progress...Will add MLB moustaches when said moustaches deserve the last said moustache place.
