AZT and me

Since we're on the subject of drugs, here's a drug that was a "major breakthrough in AIDS therapy in the 1990s that significantly altered the course of the illness and helped destroy the notion that HIV/AIDS was a death sentence".

A few years before the release of this commercial, we have a memory as kids where we were in our local bowling alley and we were lobbing cheese puff balls up into the air and then catching them in our mouths. Most we caught but some landed on the floor, of course, but we would still pick them up and eat 'em.  One 80s bowler dude didn't like that and scolded us! He said "You know.... you can get AIDS from that!". Back then we believed him but when we grew up we realized how untrue that statement really was. Everyone knows that you can only get AIDS from having sex with cheese puff balls. DUH!

Watch these Drixoral pills move in slow motion while people in silhouettes sneeze!

Are they reformulating this drug in the US or is Big Brother stepping on the little guy once again? YOU be the judge! From Wikipedia:

"As of 2008, Drixoral has been removed from the US market by manufacturer Merck, (formerly Schering-Plough). The company's updated website attributes "changing [their] manufacturing location" for the supply disruption and currently states "it is unlikely product will be available in 2010". However, the drug still appears to be available in Canada and overseas, and other drugs manufactured at the same location have not become unavailable. This has led some Drixoral users to speculate that there may be other explanations for why Drixoral is no longer available in the US market. One possible reason is that the company is reformulating the product to no longer contain pseudoephedrine. Another possibility is that the 35-year-old drug is being removed in favor of newer, more profitable antihistamines such as Claritin (also manufactured by Schering-Plough). Some Drixoral users have resorted to ordering the drug from Canadian online pharmacies."

Chloraseptic throat spray: Nothing lasts longer

I personally love Chloraseptic throat spray. I used to get bad sore throats when I was a kid and it would numb the pain. It's only temporary so you gotta keep spraying. Yeah, these kids need to keep spraying.

Feeling sick? Eat these two cookies, says Dr. fat kid

All of these people are trying to help the sick guy but none of them have Dimetapp! But the little fat kid posing as a doctor says to eat two chocolate chip cookies and call him in the morning. I like that prescription. He better accept refills!

Meth

People used to make meth with the stuff in Actifed. Actifed changed their formula in 2006 to fight the war on meth. Actifed is still available behind the counter without a prescription and all that is needed is a driver's license to track one's purchase history of the drug to discourage illegal methamphetamine production. You learn something new everyday!

POUND, PRESSURE, and PAIN

Lemon flavored hot tea mixed with Tylenol

Not sure what part of the world you're from but around here it's snowing out and very chilly today. We figured a winter/medicine/hot tea commercial would be appropriate. This drink looks pretty tasty actually!
