Slap Bracelets: The coolest fad of the 80s and 90s

Do you remember slap bracelets? Of course you do! They were the biggest fad from the late 80s and early 90s that all of the radicool kids had. If you didn't have one, then obviously you weren't very radical or cool.

Slap bracelets were made out of flexible stainless steel "bistable" spring bands sealed within a fabric cover and they came in tons of colors and patterns! Screw the "Silly Bandz" that the kids are wearing today. Slap bracelets were soooo much cooler...

Eventually, they were banned in many schools (including ours) because kids were accidentally slitting their wrists. We never got injured and never even met a kid who got injured by one of these, but when we do meet you we are gonna slap you in the face. WATCH OUT...

CRUNCH POWER will defeat those Soggies!

We remember there used to be so many Cap'n Crunch cereal commercials back in the day. This one is from 1986 and it features the Soggies of course! The second half of the TV commercial shows what toy you get in each box. It's a neat Secret Message Writer and Decoder! Radical!!

TRAPPER KEEPERS!! Didn't we all used to own one?

I have fond memories of Trapper Keepers while growing up in the late 80's and early 90's. I used to buy the most RADICAL designs and they would somehow help me through those long, boring school days.

So, what type of students were you guys? Those who can't get it together? Or those who can? Or were you "born a neat-freak or a nerd with an over-sized brain"?
